CNC Blade Milling Crash Course
Learn how to mill blades fast!
This course builds on the skills learned in Class 1 and 2 to quickly teach you the steps needed to mill blades on a CNC mill.
Prerequisite: You must complete Class 1 and 2 before taking this course. This course builds directly on the Fusion CAD and CAM skills covered in the previous classes.
What You’ll Learn:
- How to set up a project in Fusion 360 using a Pierson Mini Pallet System.
- How to design your blade with a hold-down tab, model bar stock, and lay your blades on your pallet.
- How to design your pallet fixture and apply my toolpaths to your blade designs.
- How to mill precision holes in bar stock and then accurately cut blade profiles from the material.
- How to 3D mill bevels and swedges with the blades laying flat.
- How to reverse engineer the provided downloadable templates, which include feeds, speeds, tool descriptions, and links to buy all tools.
This is not a standalone class. If you have completed Class 1 and 2 and have a basic understanding of Fusion 360 CAD/CAM, this course will get you milling blades fast! It’s roughly 1 hour and 20 minutes of a straightforward, practical introduction to milling blades.

What You Will Need To Know
You will need to know these basic tasks, which are covered in your machine’s owner’s manual or can be found online:
- Basic mill operations (startup, jogging, and installing a vise)
- How to use a probe to set your work coordinate system.
- How to change and measure your tools.
This class is taught entirely in Fusion 360 and does not include hands-on milling like the previous courses.
