Trainers
Trainers are made from blemished blades and may or may not be heat-hardened. They come with a stonewashed finish and do not include a sheath, as they are made to fit in your live blade sheath. They are made from blemished blades, so their availability depends entirely on when those blemishes occur — something I can’t predict. I know this isn’t ideal, and I appreciate your understanding. While not a perfect system, it’s currently the best way I’ve found to offer trainers without disrupting the production of live blades.
If your live blade order is primarily motivated by the trainer, you may want to hold off on purchasing for now. I want to make sure everyone gets the value they’re looking for, and I’d rather be upfront about what’s available.
I’m actively looking into better ways to make trainers more consistently accessible, but since they require just as much time and effort as live blades, each one comes at the cost of a full blade. Metal training blades should be used for practice with a dummy only! Live sparring with a partner should always be done with a foam knife for safety.
